Oroville Man Critical After Running Red Light

OROVILLE, Calif. – An Oroville man was medi-vac’d to Enloe Memorial Hospital in critical condition following a major automobile collision that occured at Oro Dam Boulevard and Myers Street on Sunday night. It was reported that the 37-year-old man had been traveling down Myers Street at 11:36 pm at a high rate of speed when he failed to stop at a stoplight at Oro Dam. As he unlawfully crossed through the intersection, he was hit on the driver’s side by a large SUV proceeding on Oro Dam through the intersection under a green light. The driver and the passengers in the SUV , as well as the passenger in the offending vehicle, reported injuries and were taken to Oroville Hospital.

The 37-year-old driver is suspected of driving under the influence. Toxicology reports are not yet available.
