The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) issued a preliminary statement detailing that Beechcraft B35 Bonanza piloted by Keith Paulson, 61, of Albion, crashed after hitting a 75 foot tree approximately one mile southwest of the airstrip at the Fall River Mills airport.

Killed in the wreck were Paulson, his wife Jaynie, 58, Jennifer Drake, 36 of Albion, and Vince Whiteley, 32, of Windsor.

The NTSB has not completed its investigation, but witnesses reported that the plane was turning to make its final approach when it apparently stalled. One witness reported seeing the nose lift up, usually a catastrophic sign when a plane stalls. The plane hit several tall trees before it plummetted to the ground. It immediately burst into flames.

This was apparently a vacation outing to the Fall River Mills area that the Paulsons regularly visited. Our blog posts show that they were well thought of and loved in both the Albion and Fall River Mills/McArthur areas. Our condolensces got out to those that knew them.
